What a fantastic turnout we had for this year’s Fun Run and Walk.
183 people registered for the event – 129 walkers and 54 runners.
That’s approx. 50 more people than last year!
Thanks to everyone who turned out to join in – it’s what Sidbury is really good at … a fun, community-based activity where we come together for a good time!
And well done to everyone who took part - runners, walkers ... and dogs ... all seemed to have a great time.
An amazing team of volunteers put lots of hard work in before and on the day ... posting application forms through doors, setting up the course, marshalling on the day, organising the start and finish lines, admin in the Hall, providing the food and drinks, getting cups engraved, putting signs up and managing the traffic, providing First Aid, making the pottery mugs etc etc.
Whatever your role you worked really hard to put on another successful event – thank you!!!
Apologies to the people at the end of the food queue – due to the unexpectedly high numbers of participants we ran out of food this year. We will work very hard not to do so again next time!
The Fun Run and Walk numbers have dwindled slightly recently – so it is delightful to see them swell again this year. Please put the word out and about to friends and neighbours and encourage them to come along next year. And in particular we would love to see more children both run and walk. When the event started 21 years ago there were many more youngsters took part – it’s a great fun day out for all the family – so please put it in your calendar for next year and come along. For information the weather has always been good ... it may have rained just before or just after ... but NEVER during the event!!!
Look forward to seeing you in 2020.
